Post It Note Holder

This was a fun and easy little holder to make! It is not my original idea, but I can't remember where I got the instructions from. This holder will hold a 3x3" Post It pad.

The main piece is a piece of cardstock 3 1/16" x 9", scored at 3", 3 3/8", 6 1/2", and 6 7/8". I then used a Fiskars border punch on the end piece for the scalloped edge. If you wish to have a straight edge, cut the cardstock to 3 1/16" x 8 1/2" and make the score marks the same as before.

The front cover pieces are 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" (I used red), and 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" (patterned). Cut 2 of each if you want to cover the back as well. The flap pieces are 1 3/8" x 2 3/4" (red) and 1 1/8" x 2 1/2" (patterned). The flap is held down with a velcro circle.

The flowers on mine were made using Papertey Ink's Beautiful Blooms II #1 dies in my Cuttlebug. All cardstock is Papertrey Ink, except the yellow which is Bazzil. The patterned paper is Bo Bunny, and the brad is Recollections.

"Hi There" Ladybug Card

Yay! It's scraplift time! LOL

My inspiration for this card came from HERE. Eerily similar, aren't they?

The card is standard A2 size and I rounded the right side corners with my new We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper. All of the cardstock is from Papertrey Ink, except the black, which is DCWV. The ladybug was cut at 2.5" with the Cricut using the Walk In My Garden cartridge. The background paper is from the My Mind's Eye Simply Delightful stack, and the velvety red and pink dotted paper is from a Michael's clearance sale a few years ago - the maker is unknown.

The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Mega Mixed Messages set and was stamped with VersaMagic chalk ink Hint of Pesto.

The circle and scalloped circle were cut in the Cuttlebug with Nestabilities. The pink scalloped border was punched using the Fiskars Threading Water punch.

Super easy and versatile enough for lots of different occasions!

Embossed Flowers Thank You Card

If you tilt your head just a bit, the card will be straight! LOL OK, so my picture taking ability stinks.

I can't even begin to express how simple and easy this card was!! The "white" embossed piece is Core'dinations Whitewash cardstock with a lavender core. I embossed it with the "Elegant Bouquet" embossing folder from Stampin Up in my Cuttlebug. I sanded the embossing until the core color showed.

The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's "Signature Greetings" and was stamped in purple ink and heat embossed, then cut using a Nestabilities die in my Cuttlebug. A few clear rhinestones in the center of the flowers finish it off.

You can use this base for soooo many different kinds of cards - just change the colors and sentiment to suit your occassion!

Ribbon Organization!!

I LOVE ribbon. I have yet to meet a ribbon I didn't like. I have hundreds of them and they have always been a challenge for me to store.

I used to store most of my ribbons in little tiny Cropper Hopper embellishment boxes stored in a larger blue case. I arranged them according to color and that worked well for a while. Well, until I got up to 5 boxes. LOL

I needed a new system and pronto. I had been eyeing and debating the Ribbon Ring for a while and finally decided to take the plunge and order it.

I was EXTREMELY surprised that it arrived the very next day!! Granted, it wasn't going very far, but STILL!! The NEXT day? That's crazy fast!! I immediately got to work putting my ribbons on the tabs. It took me several days to get it all done (not working continuously! LOL), but it was worth it! I grouped the tabs of ribbons on rings according to color and hung the rings on little Command hooks I stuck to the wall. Now I can see all of my ribbons and finding one to match my project will be a lot faster and easier. I hope. :)

Hot Air Ballon Thank You Card

This card was so fun to make!!

Not only does Papertry Ink make super cute stamps, they also make dies to coordinate!!

The sun, balloon baskets, and sentiment are from the "Up, Up & Away" set. The sun comes in 3 pieces - the circle, and 2 rays so you can stamp in different colors if you want. The sun and baskets were stamped using VersaMagic chalk inks and the sentiment was stamped using Stampin Up Whisper White Craft ink. (The best white ink I have found so far!!)

The clouds were cut from white felt using the coordinating dies in my Cuttlebug, and the balloons were cut from Basic Grey "Kioshi" papers. The cardstock is Papertrey Ink.

Soaring By To Say Hi Card

This card was so fast and simple to make!!

Everything (except the Autumn Leaves buttons and black Staz-On ink) is from Papertrey Ink. (I'm LOVING everything from there lately!!) The stamps are the "Everyday Button Bits." I stamped the balloons and sentiment on Kraft cardstock and cut them out with Nestabilities dies in my Cuttlebug. Stick on a few buttons, add a ribbon, and you're done!

New Scrap Room

OK, so it's not really *that* new since we moved over 7 months ago, but I haven't posted any pics yet, so it's new to you!

My little getaway is in our daylight basement. I think the previous owners used it as an office. It was painted white - booooooring! The room has no windows so I painted it a bright, sunshine yellow.

And a view just inside the doors. No, that is not my stripper practice pole!!

Here are my Jetmax cubes that hold all sorts of various items. The little door in the middle of the wall goes to the crawl space of the house. The black is magnet sheets and I store my Nestabilities dies on them. (You can kind of see my button fetish in the upper right corner.)

This IKEA bookshelf holds my Stampin Up stamp sets and my Cricut cartridges. I have a lot more carts than the ones shown, but most of them have been at my mom's house since I got my Gypsy.

This is my cutting table where I keep my Expression. The door goes to some sort of pump thing that *may* need to be accessed in an emergency, hence the plain IKEA table. The built in ledge makes a perfect place to store some of my Prima flowers. (The black drawer thing underneath holds misc. stuff. Nothing interesting really.)

This is the other corner of the room that shows the placement of my desk. The door goes to a deep closet that is VERY messy right now!!

Here is my desk. I got it at IKEA and I LOVE it!! The drawers hold A LOT of stuff and I like how deep the top is. The shelves above also came from IKEA and hold all sorts of things I like to keep close by.

I keep my cardstock and the papers I use the most in Jetmax cubes right by my desk for easy access.

And that's about it!! That's where all of my supplies live and collect dust. :)

I dusted off my Cricut and the "Just Because Cards" cartridge for this card.

I started with an 4.25" x 5.5" A2 base made from kraft cardstock from Papertrey Ink. If you have never used this brand of cardstock, it is super thick and sturdy and awesome for card bases.

All cuts are from the card. (page 55 of the handbook) I cut the red gingham shape at 4" as well as all layers of the watermelon. I cut the words at 3.75". All papers, except the base, are My Mind's Eye, and the edges were inked with Ranger's Distress Ink - Walnut Stain.

It was very simple, but I think it turned out pretty cute.

This was a SUPER simple card!! I started with a light pink A2 card base (5.5" x 4.25") and added a darker pink layer that was 5.25" x 4". I added 4 strips of patterned paper from the Basic Grey "Phoebe" line about 1 3/16" wide and 3.75" long that I used a corner rounder on. The "thank you" is a Studio G stamp stamped with Stampin Up's Whisper White Craft Ink. I used Nestabilities in my Cuttlebug for the circle and scalloped circle. A few rhinestones finish it off.

I told you it was simple! :) I use this layout a lot when I need a quick and easy card.

Ladybug Ghirardelli Box

Who loves chocolate? *jumping up and down* ME! I do!!

This little box holds 4 Ghirardelli chocolate squares. You would never know what yummy goodness it hold just by looking at it.

My box was made from black Bazzill cardstock and covered with red polka dot paper from the My Mind's Eye Complete Boy stack. (I don't think I've mentioned lately how much I LOVE MME paper! LOL) The ladybug and sentiment are from Stampin' Up's "Very Punny" set and the ladybug was colored with a watercolor pencil. The flowers were made with a Martha Stewart hydrangea punch and the rhinestones are 2mm nail gems I got off eBay. The square and scalloped square were cut using Nestabilities dies in the Cuttlebug, and the white trim was made from the EK Success Dotted Scallop border punch.

And that's all there is to making a cute little chocolate box! :)

Jolly Christmas Card

I feel like I cheated with this card!

The sentiment and pattern papers were downloaded and printed from http://www.pinkpetticoat.co.uk/. They are from their "Fairy Lights" collection. I used my Nestabilities in the Cuttlebug to cut the circles and scallops. The snowflakes are from two Cuttlebug dies, and they are covered with Star Dust Stickles and adhered with pop dots for dimension. The "jolly" in the sentiment was also made glittery by going over the letters with a Sakura Quickie Glue pen and sprinkling with loose glitter. The light green twill ribbon in from Martha Stewart.

Everyone uses pastel colors for Christmas cards, right?

Lunch Box Tin .cut file

The Provo Craft top loading tin - 20-7014

If anyone has altered a tin like this, you know what a pain in the you-know-what it can be!! Well, no more! I have created a .cut file with the Cricut Design Studio software to make altering these tins a breeze! No more tracing and trying to make your own template!

The file uses the George cartridge and has a page for the top, back, and front with the latch.

After you cut out the top piece, you will need to use scissors or a craft knife and cut between the two "ovals" so you can slip it over the handle. It shouldn't show *that* much after your paper is glued on.

You will want to adhere the back piece on before the front piece. They are made to overlap a bit, but the front pieces should end up just about on the center of the side. By putting the front piece on second you will have a much more symmetrical seam. (Being a Virgo, I love symmetry! LOL)

Challenge Card

I made this card as part of a challenge over at www.fctsc.com. We were given a sketch and this is what I came up with.

The card measures 5.5" x 4.25" and the base is Bazzill. The dotted background is Core'dinations cardstock embossed with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder. The striped and flowered pink papers are from M's and are made by g.c.d studios. The circle was cut at 3.5" with my Cricut using the George cartridge, and the butterflies were cut using Indie Art - the solid one at .5" and the bigger one at 1.25". The butterflies were cut from pink Bazzill and the circle is the reverse of the patterned paper, as are the rectangles for the stamped saying and the smaller flowers.

The stamped saying is from Stampin Up's "Simply Said" set. The larger flowers are Bride's table confetti from M's and the smaller ones were made using a punch. The larger rhinestones are 3 and 5mm from J's made by Darice, and the smaller ones are 2mm nail gems from eBay, all glued on individually. (Yeah, it took a while and yeah, I know they aren't straight! LOL)

Nugget Box

Here is a little Nugget box that I made very quickly the other day. The cardstock is Bazzill and the patterned papers are from the Basic Grey "Phoebe" line. The flowers are hydrangea punches from Martha Stewart, and the twill ribbon is also Martha Stewart. The "bigger" rhinestones are 3mm Darice from J's and the smaller ones are 2mm nail gems I got off eBay.

"Thinking of You" Card

This was a fun little card to make, although the pic makes the colors look a little wonky.

The card base was cut from light green Bazzill at 5.25" with the Wild Card cart. It fits into a standard A2 envelope, so it's not very big. :) The phrase was cut from purple Bazzill and colored with purple Stickles. The outside "ring" was cut from the same purple cardstock and was embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder. The little flower gems are from M's.

This is a fun little tri-fold card, although I'm not too crazy about the colors and how it turned out overall. The picture makes it look even worse! LOL

The printed paper is from the My Mind's Eye Signature Suite pad (I told you I love it! LOL). The ribbon is American Crafts, the flowers are Prima, and the little rhinestone is 5mm and made by Darice.

Ugh. I don't think I like the Calligraphy cart much. Some pieces are just so thin!!

Standard white card base yet again. (I love those things and they are so cheap when they are on sale!) The background paper is from the My Mind's Eye Signature Suite pad. The "Hope" was cut at 1.5" from Bazzill cardstock using the Calligraphy cart. The background oval was also cut at 1.5" and embossed with the Swiss Dots folder in the Cuttlebug. 2 mini brads attach them to the background paper and the little flower gems are from M's.

Frustration from the Calligraphy cart aside, this was yet another very easy and simple card.

'Get Well Soon" Card

Continuing today with the cards I've made recently...

This one is pretty similar to the Get Well one I posted yesterday. It uses the same 4" 5.5" white base, and the printed paper is from a K&Company pad. The phrase was cut from Bazzill cardstock using the Beyond Birthdays cart at 2". The red polka dot strip is the reverse side of the background paper - you gotta love double sided paper!! A couple of blue Prima flowers with a brad finish this one off.

If this had been any easier, I could have done it in my sleep. :)

Another card I'm not all that pleased with. I suppose some might choose not to show the cards they don't like, but I figure I might as well share the good, the bad, and the ugly. LOL

The phrase was cut at 3" from Bazzill cardstock using the Beyond Birthdays cart and colored in with Stardust Stickles. The brown ribbon is American Crafts and the hydrangeas are from Prima. The little brad is probably from M's or J's.

"Thinking of You" Card

I was NOT happy with this card at all. I had originally wanted to have the "Thinking of You" shadowed, but I was having issues with tearing, so I just cut it twice on "shadow" and layered them slightly off.

This is a standard A2 sized card - 4.25" x 5.5" made from a base of Bazzill cardstock.

The phrase was cut at 2.25"using the Calligraphy cart out of red and brown Bazzill. The printed paper is from the My Mind's Eye Signature Suite pad (love it!!). The flowers are Prima with a Making Memories rhinestone brad in the middle. The rhinestones in the corners are made by Darice and can be found at J's.

The "Thinking of You" was cut from DCWV cardstock with the Alphalicious cart at 1.75" using the short stack feature and colored in with Stardust Stickles.. The ribbon is from M's, as are the flowers and rhinestones. The flowers are actually Bride's table confetti from the wedding aisle.

Guess what? Another Wild Card! This was cut at 5.5" and fits in a 6x6 envelope. The plain cardstock is Bazzill, and the yellow is from the DCWV Glitter Cardstock stack. This card was sooooo easy! No embellishments at all!

"Hang In There" Card

Another Wild Card! This one was also cut at 5.5" and fits in a 6x6 envelope. The cardstock is Bazzill and the yellow dot background paper is from the DCWV Nana's Kids stack. The "Hang in there" was colored in with Stardust Stickles. A couple of Prima daisies with a rhinestone in the center finishes this one off.

"God Bless You" Card

I have several cards that I have made recently, and I will be making a separate post for each. I tried uploading several pictures in one, but they didn't line up right and I knew that would irritate me. Most of these cards were made as part of a request from the Cricut MB for cards for someone who is ill and his family.

This card was made using the Wild Card Cricut cartridge (which, by the way, is an AWESOME cart!!). It was cut at 5.5" and fits into a 6x6 envelope. The base was made from Bazzill cardstock and the printed paper is from the My Mind's Eye Signature Suite paper stack. The "God Bless You" was cut from pink Bazzill and "colored" with Stardust Stickles. A couple of Prima hydrangeas with a brad finish it off. Very simple, very quick!!

Grandma's Tin

Grandma's don't need a thing at Christmas, especially my husband's grandmother. She doesn't want more knick-knacks. She doesn't want candy or a Hickory Farms gift basket. She doesn't want you to buy her anything. So I decided to make her something!

I picked up this ProvoCraft tin at Michael's and slapped that fab flower paper on it. The paper is Bo Bunny and I got it at Craft Warehouse. I used Mod Podge to adhere the paper to the tin. (I'll save the story about the template for another time.) The red strip is just Bazzill cardstock and the black is a ribbon, which is also around the edge of the lid. A couple of Prima flowers with a rhinestone in the middle finish it off. Voila! (I don't know how to make accents! LOL) The tin is finished.

I filled the tin with assorted all occasion cards. She seemed to like them. I guess this is the gift for the stubborn old woman who has everything. (I love you, grandma!!)

Quilled Snowflake Card

Today's card was inspired by SusieB from the Cricut MB. If you have never seen her work, be sure to check it out HERE. Her work is AMAZING!!

Here we have a standard A2 size card. I used my Cuttlebug and Swiss Dots folder to emboss the background. The scored lines at the bottom were made with my new toy the Scor-Pal. The words "Happy Holidays" are computer generated using the "akaFrivolity" font, most likely from www.dafont.com. (That's an awesome site for FREE fonts by the way!!)

The snowflake was hand quilled using 1/8" white quilling paper. I'm still a novice quiller, so don't critique it too closely. :) Quilling is "easy" but very time consuming, at least for me.

This card seems to be missing a little something, but I can't quite put my finger on it. (I mean besides originality and talent! LOL) If you have any suggestions, feel free to offer them! :)

Snowman ATC

Yet ANOTHER ATC card. This one was for a "Winter" theme just for fun on the Cricut MB.

This was extremely simple! The cute little snowman paper is My Mind's Eye. I just love it! The green cardstock behind it is Bazzill. I cut the snowflakes with my Cuttlebug and the Snowflake #2 die, and covered them in Diamond Stickles. The glittery "yarn" is from Craft Warehouse in their ribbon by the yard section. I can't remember who makes it, possibly May Arts. (It was only 29 cents a yard though! I do remember that!!) The "let it snow" was printed with my computer and the tag was cut using my Cuttlebug and one of the dies from the Tiny Tags set. I inked the edges with Ranger Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.

Floral ATC For Swap

So this IS the ATC I chose to use for the Floral ATC Swap on the Cricut MB.

I used the white ATC base from Oriental Trading in the standard 2.5"x3.5" size and cut the red Bazzill cardstock layer 1/8" smaller. The printed paper is 1/4" smaller than the red cardstock and is from the My Mind's Eye paper stack from Costco. The light blue strip was cut with my Cricut using the TBBM cart's on blackout at 2.5". It was a bit too long, so I had to snip a bit off the end. I embossed it with my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots folder. I then used my ancient sewing machine for the zig-zag stitching.

The larger flowers are Brides table confetti from the wedding aisle at M's, and the smaller ones were made with a daisy punch. The gems are Darice, 3mm and 5mm, purchased at J's.

Overall I am pleased with how these turned out. Although it was a very simple design, making 15 of them took quite a while!

Rejected ATC!

So I'm in a swap of the Cricut MB for Floral ATC's. I found this fab paper at M's and thought it would be fun to use. I used a white ATC base from Oriental Trading - 2.5" x 3.5", and layered that with a piece of gold paper, and on top of that the printed paper. The large flowers are Brides table confetti from the wedding aisle at M's and the small flowers are a daisy punch. The little gold beads seed beads, also from M's, were strung on thin wire. What a pain that was! LOL The gems in the center of the flowers are 3mm and 5mm, made by Darice and purchased at J's.

I chose NOT to use this card for my floral swap because it looked to much like a Christmas card, the beads were a total pain, and I wasn't pleased at all with how it turned out. I still love that fab background paper though!

ACK! BEES!!

Few things are worse than bees in your house. This card is one of them. LOL

My friend Alli had some bees in her house recently. (I of course would MOVE, but I think she had someone come and take care of them.) Of course I had to send her a card!! She also hates googly eyes, so I knew this little bee would need to have some!!

The card itself is simple - I cut the bee at 2.5" using my Cricut and the WIMG cart. I used Stickles on the yellow stripes and vellum wings. The "be happy" was cut at 3/4" and "colored" with yellow Stickles.

The outside is bad, but the inside is WORSE! Alli is a fan of my "poetry" so I wrote her a special poem just for her. Want to hear it? Here is is:

Roses are red

And smell like perfume.

I'm sorry you had bees

In your boys' room.

I'm glad that they're gone,

Having met their demise.

Here's one you can keep

Complete with googly eyes.

Don't worry. I won't quit my day job to write poetry! LOL

Glitter Flower Birthday Card

Here is another super easy card I made for the Cards For Soldiers. Again, standard A2 size. The patterned paper is from a My Mind's Eye stack I got at Costco last year. The flower was cut out of light blue Bazzill at 3.5" (blackout) using my Cricut machine with the beloved George cart. I used Mod Podge applied with one of those foam brushes to cover the flower and then covered it with Crystal Ultrafine Transparent glitter from Art Institute. (I would normally use my Xyron when applying loose glitter, but I was making 24 flowers total and was too cheap to buy more refills! LOL) The stamp is from the Stampin' Up set "Circle of Friendship" stamped on white cardstock and punched out with a circle punch. The ribbon is from M's. I used a pop dot to attach the sentiment to the flower. Can't get much simpler than this!!

"Friends" Card

Alrighty folks, you are in for a rare treat today! Here is a card I made a few months ago for the Cards For Soldiers on the Cricut MB. What's rare about this card? IT WASN'T SCRAPLIFTED! *GASP* I know, I know - what is this world coming to??

Again, this card is a standard A2 size - 5.5" x 4.25". The printed paper is from M's or J's probably (who can remember?) and the cardstock is Bazzill. I used my Cricut and my beloved George cart to cut out a 4.25" lavender oval, a 3.75" pink oval, a 3.75" transparency oval, and a 3.75" silhouette green oval. The friends stamp is from the Stampin' Up set "Love Matters" and I stamped it on the transparency with black Staz-On ink. I used Stickles glitter glue to color it in from behind. Super easy!!

Daisy Window Card

So here is a thank you card I made for a swap a few months ago. I lifted the idea from the book "New Concepts in Paper Quilling" by Marie Browning. The only difference is that hers was blue instead of pink and had a picture of a child instead of a stamp. Other than that, it's exactly the same.

The card itself is a standard A2 size - 4.25" x 5.5". The base had a hand cut (read that as pain in the butt!!) 2.5" window and the inner piece has a 1.5" window. The stamp is from the Stampin' Up set "Figures of Speech". I stamped it on a transparency sheet with black Staz-On ink and "colored" it in on the back side with Stickles glitter glue. The daisies are a small punch with 3mm rhinestones in the middle.

This card was a pain in the rear to make due to having to cut out the window openings with a craft knife. My dear friend Angie has made life simpler for me and has created a .cut file for this card in the Cricut Design Studio. You can check it out HERE. Thanks Angie!!

Halloween Sour Cream Containers

My latest scraplifted items are these fab little "sour cream" containers that I got the inspiration from HERE. They were so easy and fun to make! All I used was a 4x6 piece of paper, a little bit of Zip Dry glue, and my paper crimper. If I can make them, anyone can! These little babies happen to be filled with mini Tootsie Rolls. Yum!

I have no idea what I am going to do with them, but they sure were fun! Maybe they will go to school with the kids on Halloween.
